Ode to the Sun
Your bright, lemony rays fall to the earth
Brightening even the recesses of the late winter landscape.
My eyes, lulled to sleep by the never-ending gray, blink in surprise
finally opening wide to drink in your radiance.
And then my soul rejoices that perhaps spring may yet appear.
